Travelclick acquires travel and hospitality business intelligence firm Rubicon

Travelclick has acquired Rubicon, a provider of competitive market intelligence to the travel and hospitality industry. Tim Hart, former CEO of Rubicon, will become Executive Vice President and head of Travelclick’s Business Intelligence division and will report to Larry Kutscher, CEO of Travelclick. germs of the deal were not disclosed.

Hotel chains work closely with Rubicon to leverage competitive pricing and forward-looking demand data to improve their pricing and revenue management processes.  With Rubicon as part of Travelclick, the company can provide the hospitality industry with a more complete business intelligence services.

OpTerra Energy Group acquires Bluestone Energy Services

Energy service company OpTerra Energy Group has acquired Bluestone Energy Services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Norwell, Massachusetts, Bluestone designs and implements comprehensive, turnkey energy efficiency solutions for a broad range of commercial and institutional customers in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes markets. they include data centres, hospitals, universities, supermarkets and manufacturing facilities. Additionally, Bluestone is an energy efficiency service provider for many utilities, including National Grid, NSTAR, BG&E, PPL and ComEd.

“Bluestone has a demonstrated track record of delivering energy efficiency projects with compelling economic paybacks for commercial customers across a number of industry verticals in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes regions,” said Raouf Abdel, OpTerra CEO. “We expect Bluestone to significantly contribute to OpTerra’s national expansion while adding deep experience with utility incentive programs and specialized expertise to address energy-intensive facilities such as data centers.”

Glam Media acquires BBS Media

Glam Media has acquired brand advertising media company BBS Media (Boxer B-Scene Media) based in Canada. The acquisition creates the 5th international country media subsidiary for Glam. BBS Media’s co-founders, Mark Boxer and Brian Fields, will serve as VPs of Glam Media Canada, running publisher and brand-advertising sales, and leading the BBS Media team.

BBS Media helps brands reach targeted audiences in Canada and has established relationships with many premium content providers including Harper’s Bazaar, YummyMummyClub.ca, Washington Post Digital, Forbes, Men’shealth.com, Big Lead Sports, Haven Home Media and others.

Sindicatum Carbon Capital Group acquires Verdeo Group

Singapore based Sindicatum Carbon Capital Group, a company that produces clean energy and environmental commodities (such as carbon credits) through the abatement or displacement of Greenhouse Gases from a global portfolio of projects, has acquired 100% of the outstanding shares of Verdeo Group, a developer of emission reduction projects in North America.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Verdeo will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of SCC and will operate as SCC’s North American business unit with the primary objective of expanding SCC’s asset base in that market.  Verdeo will continue to be led by Josh Green, its current CEO, and will operate from its existing office in Washington D.C.  SCC’s current US operations will be integrated with Verdeo’s.

MMAX Media merges With Hyperlocal Marketing

MMAX Media has merged with Hyperlocal Marketing, an early stage location based mobile marketing company.  In conjunction with the merger, MMAX Media received private funding of $250,000.

According to Ed Cespedes, Chairman and CEO of MMAX Media, “We will now focus MMAX on the rapidly developing opportunities presented by the broad and constant access to the Internet from virtually everywhere.  Whether accessing the Internet on desktop computers or from mobile devices, vast numbers of consumers are always ‘online.’  We believe this ‘always on’ dynamic provides for significant marketing opportunities.”

Mediabistro.com (a division of WebMediaBrands) has acquired the assets of the blog FacebookMarketing.de from Philipp Roth and Jens Wiese of Munich, Germany. FacebookMarketing.de concentrates on news and analysis of the fast-developing use of Facebook marketing in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Mediabistro will include FacebookMarketing.de as part of its AllFacebook.com blog and change the name of FacebookMarketing.de to AllFacebook.de.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Philipp Roth and Jens Wiese will continue managing and blogging for AllFacebook.de.

Social media monitoring firm Radian6 has acquired 6Consulting.

London-­based 6Consulting is a social media firm offering social media monitoring to enterprises and agencies in the UK. 6Consulting’s clients include Kellogg’s, EDF, Belron International, Dyson, Fujitsu, Sony Ericsson, the Central Office of Information, the Metropolitan Police, the Greater Manchester Police, as well as many of the region’s top public relations and ad agencies. The firm has been an official reseller for Radian6 since 2009.

The 20 employees at 6Consulting will become employees of Radian6 Technologies UK. That will take the total number of employees at Radian6 to over 280. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

RadiumOne closes $21 million funding – for international expansion and acquisitions

RadiumOne, a digital ad network that leverages the social web has closed a $21 million Series B funding round led by Crosslink Capital. DFJ Esprit also participated in the round along with previous investors Adams Street Partners and Trinity Ventures, bringing total funding to $33.5 million. RadiumOne was founded by Gurbaksh Chahal in 2009.

The latest funding round will primarily be used for international expansion and acquisitions. RadiumOne recently opened its UK office, and in the coming months will be launching in continental Europe and Asia Pacific. The Company, which reached profitability in Q4, will use its existing and new capital for potential acquisitions designed to give the company additional resources and tools to effectively scale.

Green Bridge Industries acquires ten percent of Team Energy

Green Bridge Industries has acquired a ten percent interest in the private Florida based corporation, Team Energy. The purchase price of $400,000 will be paid in the form of 4,000,000 shares of restricted common stock in Green Bridge Industries based on $0.10 per share. According to the terms of the agreement, Green Bridge will have the option to purchase the remaining equity stake in Team Energy for future cash consideration.

Team Energy is projected to generate an EBITDA of $3,635,180 in 2012 and total revenue of $4,320,000. The Company also projects an EBITDA of $43,551,800 and total revenue of $50,400,000 by 2016.

Penton acquires EyeTraffic Media

B2B media company Penton has completed its first marketing services acquisition with the purchase of EyeTraffic Media, an online marketing firm.  Terms were not disclosed.

Sharon Rowlands, CEO of Penton, said, “Our senior team has felt for some time that a marketing services offering – including online lead generation for our clients – was a critical component of our growth agenda. EyeTraffic forms the cornerstone of such an offering.  We intend to roll out these services to our more than 20,000 marketing clients and to our five million subscribers, many of whom are small- and medium-sized businesses that are thirsting for online marketing solutions.”

EyeTraffic, founded in 2004 and based in Washington, D.C., has a blue chip roster of clients including DuPont, Mazda and Georgetown University.  The company experienced record growth in 2010 and has recently opened new offices in Arlington, Virginia.
